Tamara + Cole Engaged

Gorgeous location – check.

Gorgeous girl – check.

Handsome boy – check.

Sexy? Definitely.

Cute? Absolutely.

Meeting up with Tamara and Cole to do an engagement session turned out to be a pretty amazing night. I met them at a friend’s property, and my photography juices immediately started flowing! There were probably a hundred different locations that I would have loved to try. I managed to narrow it down to…maybe 20 (they probably thought I was going to keep them there all night. lol)! We had only spoke via e-mail, so I was anxious to meet them in person. Not only were they both completely sweet, fun and a bit ridiculous, but Tamara is obviously a beautiful girl and Cole isn’t so bad himself! Cole told me he was a bit nervous to be in front of the camera, but I couldn’t tell at all. I think just being there with Tamara helped calm his nerves, because he rocked it!

They were engaged this past December, but aren’t getting hitched till 2016, so this was something fun to do in the meantime to help celebrate the upcoming wedding. And I loved that Tamara thought to bring some celebratory balloons for a few photos! Getting engaged and deciding to marry someone is such a special moment, and definitely worthy of these colorful balloons.

Thank you two for inviting me to do this for you. I had a wonderful time with you, and it is easy to see the spark between you.

kristen + darren married

They were married above Okanagan Lake at the stunning La Punta Norte in Summerland, BC. It was a perfect summer day with the sun shining and a breeze flowing. Darren and the boys anxiously got prepared in their room at La Punta, and the girls prepared Kristen to see her groom. K+D had chosen to do a first look, which was such a special moment for them. She walked up to him under the gazebo (where they would later share their wedding vows), and as he turned around to see his bride, you could see how proud he was. She looked completely beautiful, and they were ready to get married!

I absolutely loved their ceremony. With the ringbearers (or shall I say, ‘ring security’) wandering around ensuring things were going ‘smoothly’, and with their family and friends all watching them exchange rings overlooking the incredible view, it couldn’t have been any sweeter. After the ceremony, we continued on to the tent for the rest of the eve. It was an evening full of laughter, visiting, good food and celebration.

Congratulations you two, and I hope these photos act as a beautiful reminder of such a special day. xo

And a special thank you to Michele for being a fabulous second photographer for the day…

anne + nathan married

This wedding day was special for so many reasons. Not only were we hidden away on the mountainside of Canmore (which was such a stunning and unique experience for me, given I’m usually found photographing weddings in the Okanagan Valley), but the bride is also a dear friend of mine. Anne and I grew up together spending all our time inside the walls of our small-town skating rink. We started as rink-buddys that eventually turned into life-long friends, and I am very thankful for that.

As many love-stories begin, Nathan met Anne at a pub in Edmonton many moons ago. Over time, their relationship grew, they fell in love and became each others’ best friend. And last year, Nathan proposed to Anne and, of course, she said yes.  They decided to get married in Canmore, a place special to both of them, calling it home for a while.

The day had arrived, and Anne finished preparing with her family and her bridesmaids’ help. She slipped into her wedding dress and with laughter and a few tears, we were on our way to the ceremony.

As Nathan and Anne said their ‘I do’s’ overlooking the mountains and the waters of Canmore, there was so much love outpouring from their family and friends. We escaped with their ‘very entertaining’ bridal party for some photos, and then headed to the reception to celebrate! The reception did not disappoint with some very special speeches, delicious eats, a few kisses, some fabulous dancing and a very tasty wedding cake!

A big thank you to my amazing second photographer, Mandy, for coming out for the day.

Thank you two for inviting me to be a small part of your day. I couldn’t have imagined being anywhere else that day but with you. xo
