Hannah + Neil Married

Some people think travelling brings out our true selves, and can be an amazing test to see if two people are truly compatible with each other. If this is true, I would say that Neil + Hannah passed with flying colours!

These two have traveled the world together. They have worked all sorts of random jobs throughout their adventures. They literally lived out of the back of thier SUV while traveling Australia. They’ve held each others hand through life’s toughest moments, and they’ve experienced some of the most awe-inspiring moments side-by-side.

When they announced their engagement (which happened under water while travelling to Fiji – super cool), I couldn’t wait for the wedding! But they did make us wait… almost 3 years! But here we are, already looking ‘back’ at the wedding pictures that now hold all these precious memories.

The wedding day couldn’t have gone more perfect. A soft layer of clouds coated the sky. The Ashes wedding venue was lush with colour, and the stone buildings deep with character. The absolute perfect spot to celebrate Hannah and Neil’s wedding.

It was soon time for Hannah to walk down the aisle. Neil stood up at the front with his best man, his brother, by his side. As he turned around to see his bride for the first time, everything else just melted away. For that second in time, I don’t think anything else mattered or could matter. For that second, it was just ‘him’ and ‘her’.

And then they got hitched, with all of their family and closest friends around them. And then they celebrated late into the night, ate amazing food, drank good drink. Had so much great conversation and did a whole lot of dancing!

Neil, you are my family. I adore you so very much. Hannah, you are now officially my family, and I couldn’t be any happier. You are both such incredible people, and I’m thankful you found each other. Such a beautiful day it was, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next. Canada, perhaps?!

A huge thank you to the amazing Amy Faith for coming and photographing the reception for Neil + Hannah. She did an incredible job of capturing those special moments at the end of the night, and it allowed me to sit back and enjoy the beautiful moments with my family. xo

Amanda + joel Engaged

They met while working at a restaurant once upon a time. They were friends. Thought each other were pretty cool, but for now… that was it. Just friends.

It wasn’t till a couple years later when they ran into each other again, where something seemed a little… different. So, they hung out. Maybe a date? Sure! That date quickly turned into something more. Something definitely ‘different’. Something special.

I have to admit, I have an inside scoop on this amazing couple, with this being my little brother! Which means I even remember the first time Joel brought Amanda home to meet our crazy family. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we loved her right from the start.

Amanda is this incredible woman. Not only is she a sweet soul, she is hilarious, she’s passionate and did I mention a true beauty. I was very excited for Joel right from that first day, because what I could see, seemed like a perfect fit for him.

She immediately became a part of our family, and I have considered her my ‘sister’ for a long time now. I am excited that it will finally be official, with her and Joel having just got engaged in Paris. Of all the places… Paris.

As it happened, my entire family were all on European vacations this past month because of a wedding we were all going to (which you’ll hear about next week!), but it meant that I was in Paris at the same time as these two. So of course we stole an hour to do a few photos while walking near the Eiffel Tower!

Joel, you are my little brother who I think the world of. I know you have always looked out for me, you have been someone I know I can always turn to. You have been a rock within our family, and I know you are going to be that for Amanda as well. You are both incredible and both deserve the world when it comes to love, and I believe you’ve found just that. Congratulations on making that love a bit more ‘official’ half-way across the world, and I can’t wait to see where it takes you next.

mothers day

It is so difficult to know how to put my thoughts about motherhood into words. Becoming a mother has changed how I view absolutely everything in life. If I can be real for a quick minute;

I have never loved someone this way. I have never felt this type of love/responsibility for someone. What happens to her, is because of me (and her dad too, of course). That is pretty intense. To be THAT responsible for something. I have never experienced anything remotely close to that before, and even though it’s crazy-stupid-scary if you really think about it, but it’s also just what it is to be a mom. So somehow it’s ok. I can somehow handle it. And truly,  I feel like this is the only thing I can imagine doing with my life right now. She is my world, and will be the best part of it from now till forever.

And then it just always makes me think of my own mom. And what she has done for me and my three siblings. It is humbling to think of what she has had to do for us, and what she continues to do for us. She is always there for me. Always. I think she can almost read my mind sometimes.

She just knows when to show up. When to hug. When to laugh. When to cry. And also when to be my strength and not cry. Be my rock. She blows me away with her un-ending love for her children, and all I can do is to try to be that for Ari as she goes through her life.

So, here’s to my mom who is halfway across the world right now backpacking Europe with my dad. I love you. I appreciate you. Forever.

And to my own little bug… words can’t describe how important and valuable you are to me and your dad. We will do all we can to protect you, but also show you all this world has to offer, because I know you will have so many amazing things to offer back.

main man

It is never more present in my mind as to how lucky I am to have this man, as when we get home from a trip/weekend/group event/datenight and we have to go back to ‘work’. Every single time it solidifies how much I love being around him. How much comfort I feel with him near. How he is the person that I feel most connected to and most honestly, truly ‘me’. When I am without, I can’t help but await for the next time I am with.

Happiest of birthdays to my husband. You are the absolute love of my life, and the most incredible dad to our little babe. She adores you more than you know. I adore you more than I can ever say.
